The new packaging factory in India has been given the green light to start manufacturing food and beverage containers.
The company has been working for the past 10 years and was the first Indian company to enter the food industry.
Its director general, Anupam Vittal, said: “The goal of our business is to bring fresh food to the market with high-quality ingredients and in the best quality.
We are going to bring the quality and taste of our food to India.”
The new plant, which will be the biggest in the world, will create over 50,000 jobs.
It is the first plant of its kind to be built in the country and will produce around 20,000 containers per day.
“We are very happy with the result and I hope that it will help in creating more jobs in the sector,” Vittal said.
Food is a major source of income for many of the households in India.
India produces around 50 per cent of the world’s food and is projected to overtake China in terms of population by 2030.
