India’s AgarPacker to get government approval to start exports of agar, paper

New Delhi: Agar Packer Ltd has started exporting its Agar paper from its factory in Agarpore to India, following which it will start making paper products, the company said on Friday.

The Agar Paper Production Corporation Ltd, which is run by an All India Board of Cotton Exporters (AIBEC) board member, will start exports on Monday from the Agar factory, Agar Processing Corporation Ltd’s chief executive officer Ashok Mishra said in a written reply to questions submitted by reporters.

India’s Agars are used for paper, fabric and pharmaceuticals.

India plans to become the world’s second largest agro-industry by 2020, with more than 60 percent of its exports to the US, the European Union and the United Nations.
